Project Design and Management

Your project is unique. And along with your exciting ideas, you probably have a bunch of questions and concerns. Villanti never takes a cookie-cutter approach to any job - our six decades of experience has given us a full-spectrum understanding both of the print industry and our customers' needs. Our capable project managers are here to walk you through every step of the process, from basic planning, estimates, and strategy through execution and distribution.

Pre-Press - Digital Production

File Preparation

Our file technicians and digital production specialists are experts in all elements of digital and print graphic production, including digital file building, image retouching, and color correction. They can complete your files or provide final prep for printing.

As soon as the files are prepped, proofs are created for both the client and printer to review. Depending on the project, we generate color accurate Epson proofs, Digital Bluelines printed on our Xerox Iridesse digital press to show pagination and layouts, and also post to InSite for virtual approval.

All files are routed through our Kodak Prinergy Workflow. Prinergy Workflow uses JDF (job definition format, a technical standard developed by the graphic arts industry) to share job data, imposition, and page-assignment information with content preparation, production planning, prepress, and business systems. It helps reduce costs and build a more efficient environment with improved control and automation based on industry-standard specifications.

Offset Printing

The heart and soul of any printer is the press room. At Villanti, our Heidelberg press is a workhorse able to meet your printing and packaging needs. We use Staccato screening (which incorporates a 10-micron spot into its screen set) on every offset job to produce images of almost unimaginable quality with vibrant details and a lifelike smoothness and consistency of tone. Staccato screening eliminates undesirable printing effects such as rosettes and moiré patterns.

Our computer processing systems are seamlessly integrated between the pre-press department and the press room. Color curves for each individual file are automatically calibrated in pre-press to ensure that what you see is what you get - from your proof to your final printed piece.

Digital Printing / Variable Data

In our digital press room, we run high-speed Xerox 410's for black-and-white jobs and the Xerox Iridesse 120 5-Color for color work. The Iridesse produces remarkably crisp, immersive, and high-impact images for both high-volume and short-run jobs. To further expand our digital printing capabilities and whet your creative appetite, we added an optional clear dry ink (varnish) station to apply eye-catching spot or flood effects, resulting in prints that burst with life and pop from the page. Our digital press can handle a wide variety of papers and substrates up to 18 pts and a maximum sheet size of 13" x 19". It has inline collating, three-hole punching, and stapling and also runs variable data to personalize short-run marketing programs.

Bindery and Finishing

After a job is printed, the next stop is our bindery and finishing department, where we offer a full range of specialty binding services, including case-bound binding, saddle stitching, and PUR perfect binding. Folding, cutting, creasing, punching, laminating, die-cutting, perforating, foil stamping, embossing, addressing, inserting, and shrink wrapping are also available. 

Mailing

Villanti has been in the mailing business for more than 40 years. We know mail, which means that we know how frustrating and difficult it can be to navigate the postal system. Our dedicated and efficient lettershop staff is here to save you time and money. We even have a post office located right in the back of our building! Our comprehensive range of services includes data processing, inserting, ink jetting, and co-mailing and matched mailings.

Distribution/Fulfillment/Warehousing

Villanti has a large fulfillment and storage warehouse where we can store, pick, kit, and distribute all of your printed and promotional materials. From a small kit with 2 items to a large kit with twenty, we have the experience and knowledge to help you plan and execute your promotion or sampling project.
